'The SRV'

The SRV is a first year issue Stevie Ray Vaughan signature model Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster. She was Benito's #1 until 'The '62' came along. The original "SRV" pickguard was removed before being played and replaced with the plain Tortoise Shell pickguard in the picture. Though Benito loves Stevie, and it was Stevie's music that drew Benito to the blues, out of respect he just doesn't feel right playing the guitar with the big SRV on the pickguard. She purrs with a growling, gutty tone. Mark (Mark's Guitar Repair) re-fretted her with Dunlop #6100 Jumbo frets when she needed it. She features the original Custom Shop Texas Special pickups that are standard equipment on the SRV signature models. The original saddles have been retired and replaced with All Parts gold plated 'vintage' style saddles.
